7 Unstoppable Ways To Build A List Of At Least 1,000 In Less Than 30 Days
So you want to build a list?
Not just a “list”, but an ultra-responsive, unstoppable list? Who wouldn’t want that?
In this report, I’ll share with you my best list-building strategies that’s attracted more than 15,677 subscribers to my opt-in list.
Submit Your Article(s) to Article Directories
I call this the “lean-mean-viral-machine” J
Simply write up or hire a ghostwriter to write for you and submit it to as many article directories you can find.
The trick is to use the “Resource box”. It’s a space where you’re meant to put information about the author - that’s you.
Combine a useful article with a powerful resource box and you’ll get a lot of “action takers”. The resource box MUST contain a link to lead to a page where your optin box is.
The great characteristic about articles, is that they’re free to use as long as the resource box is left intact.
The magic begins when people begin to use it on their site for content. Other article directories will eventually grab articles from bigger article directories as well. Soon you’ll find that your articles are distributed amongst many, many sites and you’ll get web crawlers crawling your article, which in turn will appear in search engines.

Place Your Optin Box To As Many Of Your Pages As You Can
People make the mistake of just placing their subscription box in ONE location.
The fact is, not everyone lands on your main homepage. Some might end up in your “photo gallery” page.
You want to capture as many of those visitors as possible. Because once they’re gone, it’s likely that they won’t return unless you have something that makes them come back.

Customers are always the number one action takers.
You see, while they’re in that state where they’re taking action, you need to take advantage of it as much as you can.
You can also offer an “upsell” or “one time offer”. But let’s stick to the subject of list building here.
You simply put the exact same newsletter information you have on your main newsletter/ezine site and paste it into the “Download page”.
Those buyers have that habit of clicking on the “download here” link or button, so the conversion of them opting into your newsletter is VERY HIGH. You can get as much as 80 to even 100% of the customers to optin.
The results? You get a HYPER-RESPONSIVE list!
Why? Do I really need to explain?
Well for those who still don’t realise this powerful list-building strategy, here’s why:
Those “customers” have already proved that they’re “customers” because they purchased something from you, obviously.
Now, when they optin to your list and you make an offer one day to that list, there’s a high chance you’ll get that customer to purchase again. That’s IF they were satisfied with the previous product they bought from you.
Viral List Building
This is one my favourite list-building techniques.
The word “Viral” is already self-explainatory. It’s simply a “virus” that goes from one person after the other (not a computer virus).
You could pass-along a “free” report to your contacts, which has YOUR name and website included somewhere within the report. If you’ve given enough solid content in that free report, there’s a high chance the end-user will pass it along to their contacts as well.
A variation is to offer something free on the front-end and offer a “one time offer” after they signup.
You’ll make money when people buy your one time offer deal.
Let those subscribers promote your free site with their affiliate link so then your subscribers will get commission for referring others who purchase the one time offer deal.
Very, very powerful technique.
Signature Files
No, not your autograph or handwriting J
A signature in marketing terms is basically an area after your “Regards, John Smith”. It’s where you place information about your website, your newsletter or a download.
Here’s one that I use:

That’s for an email signature. Each time you reply to someone, you use that mechanism so they’ll optin to your list.
Another powerful way to use signature files is by posting to active forums.
Look for “hot topics”. Topics that have many readers and replies.
Use the same signature as your email signature or tailor it to meet the target market,
Simply post your feedback or advice and you’ll get your signature appearing under your reply. Just make sure you have “signature enabled” when you post.
You’ll INSTANTLY get your website (where your optin form is) appearing to a highly targeted audience.
To find some great forums to join, simply go to google.com or whatever search engine you use, and search for the terms “xyz forum” (where xyz=your market).
You’ll get a list of forums you can immediately market to. Just be aware of the “forum rules”.
Ezine Ad Swaps
This technique is a win/win situation.
You post your small classified ad on another newsletter and that newsletter owner can post their ad on your newsletter.
You’re both getting new subscribers for free. Just as long as you both are in the same market.
eCourses
Last but not least, eCourses.
Start a free ecourse your subscribers will receive when they optin to your list.
The topic must be related to your market.
It is suggested that you do, at least, a 5-day ecourse to followup on your subscribers. 7-days is optimal according to many studies
For a 5-day eCourse a basic ecourse will consist of:
Day 1 could be a small introduction to what they’ll learn in the coming days.
Day 2 could teach the person the fundamentals.
Day 3 could be ways to do such and such
Day 4 could be implementing the strategies
Day 5 could be a wrap up and a soft offer.
Your main goal is to build trust with the new subscriber. Once you’ve established that, then they’ll begin to respond to whatever email you send them out in the future.
Your eCourse must have/be:
Useful content
Immediately usable content
Educational
Sales-pitch & hype-free
Short & punchy (to the point)
Passion – write with personality
Interesting – tell stories so they can relate to you

How To Add 1300 New Subscribers To Your List Per Week Copyright 2006 by Willie Crawford
In a recent special report, which I marketed from my blog, I revealed to a handful of clients how I actually add an extra 5200 subscribers to my list every month. These are in addition to the new subscribers I was already getting before implementing my new "secret" technique.
After creating that special report, I brainstormed with a few members of my mastermind group and we came up with a few more techniques that I can share with you here. Not all of these techniques have the same effectiveness, and not all of them generate the same quality of subscribers.
Here are a few techniques to effortlessly add thousands of new subscribers to your list.
1) Do article swaps. Offer to publish the articles of another ezine publisher in exchange for them publishing your articles. In addition to publishing the articles though, each publisher needs to actually recommend subscribing to the authors' ezines. Publishing the other person's articles proves that they deliver quality content. However, it's the personal prompting to subscribe to the other person's list that gets all of the new signups.
Do this maybe once a month with different publishers.
2) Create and give away viral, rebrandable ebooks. Simply create ebooks that deliver valuable content and also contain links to backend products. Ideally, these products pertain directly to the topic of the ebook. Allow others to rebrand these links, using a tool such as ACE PDF Rebrander
They are incentivized to pass your ebooks on because they earn a profit from the links in them.
In your ebooks, simply invite readers to join your list to get additional reports on the topic. You can also earn a direct profit by making the rebrandable links for products from a 2-tier affiliate program. If the person is not an affiliate for the products, they can sign up through your links, join your second tier, and earn you commission whenever they make sales.
3) Create and give away viral, rebrandable, AUDIO ebooks. This is taking the rebrandable ebook idea to a whole new level. Audio has a much higher perceived value than a regular ebook, and it's not more difficult to create an audio ebook. I did an entire teleseminar on using audio ebooks to build your list, and to build your business. You can access the audio from that teleseminar free of charge here:
4) Piggyback on giveaways and big ticket item sales. You can partner with several people to set up a giveaway where you collect the email addresses in exchange for your freebie. By everyone cross-promoting the giveaway, you put the list building on hyper-drive.
Given that all lists are not the same, imagine what it would be worth if instead of building a list of freebie seekers, you built a list of people who paid $1000 or more for a product. All of a sudden, you'd have a list of proven big-ticket buyers. You'd have a list of people who have proven they are serious about building and investing in their businesses. This list would be priceless!
Ok, I hear you. You're asking how do you get in on one of these deals. You're wondering how you get to build your list by offering your product in exchange for the email of a big ticket buyer.
The answer to the above questions is that you need to find out about impending big ticket launches early, and you need to "throw you name into the hat." The easiest way to do that is actually to just join my "Insiders List." Can I ramble on about how valuable having your own list is?
You can almost write your own pay checks and you're almost guaranteed of a weekly/monthly income simply by sending off a promotion or offer to your list. The amount you get depends on numerous reasons such as offer, price, benefits & more. I remember when I wanted a new computer, all I did was send off an email to my list of only 233 (way back) about a great product, woke up the next day to find over $700 worth of orders. The great thing was that the product wasn't even mine, it only took me less than 15 minutes to write a solo email to send off to my list and a few seconds to click the "Submit button" using my autoresponder service.
You build strong rapport, credibility & relationships Once you have targeted people on your list you can consider yourself an expert. As long as you create value for subscribers. There's no use having your own list just to send out offer after offer. You might as well say goodbye to that list. You'll get unsubcriptions faster then you could click your mouse button.
You're able to do Joint-Ventures with your list What better way than to ask your list who'd like to do a project, promotion, ad swap or whatever with your product? It's fast and easy. You don't have to hunt around the Internet to find people who are in the same niche.
You're able to do market research such as surveys This isn't what you think. It's not one of those people calling you up between 1-5pm about a new service that will cut your phone bills in half. That's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about here is surveying so that YOU KNOW what your subscriber's want, what your subscriber's problems are and what they desire most.
This is a million-dollar marketing tool you can use at your fingertips and it's completely free!
You could offer them an incentive for answering your survey.
Here's a great template you could use as a survey: "What is your biggest problem about list-building?"
Simple fill in the gaps: "What is your biggest problem about _______________?"
You'll get a ton of responses and these responses are your "answers" to creating your next product. It could be an ebook, a report, an article or even a home-study course!
Can you see how powerful it is now?
You're able to send your subscribers follow-up emails Once you have people on your list, they can be placed on an automated system where your autoresponder sends out sequential email messages so you're making money on the backend. Simply set a few emails to go on predetermined days like one message going out when they sign up, the next after three days, the next after seven etc. You can set it and leave it on autopilot.
I could go on for days & weeks about how having your own list is a goldmine. So what's my point here? I don't want to "show-off" that I made "this & that" amount of money with my list, I want to show you the true potentialof having your own list and how any Joe Blow could do it. Everyone starts from zero just like I did.

Secrets To Choosing A Superior Autoresponder

There's so many autoresponder's to choose from nowadays isn't it? But what might sound good might not always be the best. Are less than 30% of your emails getting delivered?
Before you even consider paying for an autoreponder, whether it be an autoresponder service or your own software script, you need to know these facts I'm about to reveal to you first.
Firstly, what's an autoresponder?
An autoresponder basically automates much of your email responses. Here's an example...
Have you ever sent an email to a commercial email and got a reply, almost instantly, containing "We've received your email and will respond shortly" ? Well that's what a basic autoresponder does. It only comes handy for a once off reply.
With email marketing and list building we need a special autoresponder called a "sequential autoresponder". A sequential autoresponder can store several, even 100's, of email messages into it's system and each email message can be set to send out each email on predetermined days. Example -
When someone subscribes to "ABC newsletter" they might receive the first email straight away. Then the second in about two days later and another five days later and so on.
So that's what I'm going to get into more depth on with you.

Choosing the best autoreponder that's right for you
My personal recommendations
Ok to start off, here are the different types of autoreponders you can use.
Basic autoreponder
I've briefly explained what this type of autoresponder is at the beginning of this report.
This type of autoreponder only allows you to send one autoresponded message. Meaning that if someone were to send an email to your autoresponder enabled email, they'll receive an email instantly and that's it -- no other emails following that.
This is not widely used and will not be much use for you. Why? It doesn't capture the contact's email address. You'll need to add that yourself to the system.
The advantage of the basic autoresponder is that it's quick, easy and free to setup via your web hosting control panel. Only use this if you have a special customer support email address. But be aware that it may become a disturbance to your contacts.
Autoresponder Software
No this isn't the autoresponder software script where you upload it to your own web host. These are actual software just like any other program which you install onto your computer.
This is a great tool because it's powerful and gives the admin a lot of control over how it works.
The drawback of it is that it only runs on your computer. Which means if you were out of your home then you won't have access to your list unless you bring your computer with you. Everything is stored onto your computer. What if you wanted to send out an urgent email to your list? What do you do then?
Autoresponder Scripts
This is one of the main types of autoresponder's people use.
Basically you purchase an autoresponder script from somewhere like http://www.ecom24.com (the scripts called Autoresponder Pro) and you upload and install it onto your own web host server.
The advantages of this type of autoresponder is that you purchase the script once off and can use it as much as you can without worrying about monthly fee's.
It's feature rich and gives you the control you need.
There are numerous issues though when you use this type of autoresponder.
If the script does not include installation then this is a problem to a novice user. They then either have to do it on their own or outsource the work.
Email deliverability is poor. Why? Because you're sending out emails from your own web hosts. So why's this a problem? It's called "blacklists". If by any chance your domain/IP is "blacklisted" then only 30% of your emails will get delivered (typical rate).
Let me explain in more detail. There are many reasons why your IP/domain is blacklisted in the first place.
You're using a shared account or reseller account. Shared accounts are the most common types of web hosting packages you get. Did you know several other people share that same server and IP with you?
If you go to your email account such as Hotmail and Yahoo mail, you can see a special folder called "Junk Mail". Once there's enough clicks from people that treat it as "junk mail", then that IP will be considered "blacklisted".
On the other hand, if you have your own dedicated IP address then that will reduce the risk of getting your IP address blacklisted but it's still not 100% OK.
Even if you have your own dedicated server, it's very hard to get your IP "whitelisted" (the opposite of blacklisted) from majoy mail servers and ISP's such as AOL.
Autoresponder Services
These types of autoresponder's are services such as EmailAces, Aweber & GetResponse.
You basically pay a subscription fee to use their autoresponder. They maintain and service everything for you.
These companies are dedicated to getting your emails delivered, unlike autoresponder scripts. They do the hard work for you and get as much as 99.4% of your emails delivered to your list. That's exactly what you want.
There's no software or scripts to install. The only hard part is actually setting up the autoresponder which is simple. Create a new account > Name it > Email address > Generate HTML form code. Easy.
The only bad thing about it is that if you want to broadcast an email to your list now then it is placed in a que. A que of other member's emails. It could take half an hour, an hour and sometimes even two hours depending on the load.
It's not as feature-rich as autoreponder scripts and doesn't give you as much control as the scripts.
OK. So those are the four types of autoresponders.
So which one's right for you?
It depends on what type of business you're in. If you're in the Internet Marketing field then cross off the first two types of autoresponder (Basic & Software).
You need a sequential autoresponder. Period. You'll know why in the next few parts of this email marketing series.
Here's my personal recommendation.
If you want to get your emails delivered & don't want to waste time then I'd go straight to Autoresponder services. No doubt about it. It's what I'm using at the moment and believe me, I've tried many autoresponder scripts which ended up in tragedy and horrow. Less than 30% of my emails were delivered. I kept getting emails saying that my email's "bounced". Which of course means that it's blacklisted.
I switched over to Emailaces straight away and now I'm getting so much more responses than ever before. The great thing is that EmailAces allows you to import prospects without using double-optin. Other services such as Aweber and Getresponse requires the subscriber to confirm the email again.
EmailAces allows you to backup your list and actually download the list of subscribers to your computer.
Another great thing is that EmailAces is owned by Gary Ambrose. He's a well known Internet Marketer and specialises in Email Deliverability. Why's this so great? He understands Internet marketing so he's created an autoresponder that's made exactly for that. He makes sure that your emails get across to your subscribers almost 100% of the time.
If you're on a budget and don't have money for a subscription based autoresponder then you can use autoresponder scripts. But only temporarily. I want to emphasise that. Because once your list(s) grows bigger, you'll find that you're database starts to slow down because of the number of subscribers you have and also email deliverability once again.
If you don't want to waste time installing and maintaining your own autoresponder, I'd highly recommend you go for autoresponder services. EmailAces to be precise.

How To Create A Killer Opt-in Page In 10 Short & Simple Steps

If you want to build a responsive, targeted and big list then this special step-by-step tutorial is for you.
There are many ways of getting subscribers. If you want to get people to opt-in to your list without hesitation then you need, what we call, a name squeeze page.
Basically a name squeeze page forces the reader to opt-in to "find out more". Find out more about the product, receive a report, a download or whatever.
But, you need to do it the "special way". I've seen so many people do it incorrectly which caused them to only get a 1-2% conversion rate. Which is about one opt-in per 100 visits.
What I'm about to reveal to you will explode your opt-ins by 200%, 300% or even 400%!
This secrets I'm about to reveal to you has been proven to work. If you know how to follow simple step-by-step instructions, then this will be too easy for you.
So without further ado, here it is...
Step 1. Load up your HTML editor.
You may use programs like Office Frontpage, Macromedia Dreamweaver or CoffeeCup HTML Editor available free at http://www.download.com
Step 2. Insert a new table at about 600 pixels wide.
Step 3. Add your attention grabbing headline.
Your headline should have the following characteristics:
At the start and end of the heading it should have quotes (" ")
Red in color.
18-24 pts in size.
Step 4. Add your bold sub-heading.
Your sub-heading should have the following characteristics:
Dark blue in color.
14 pts in size
Step 5. Add a short introduction (a paragraph or two).
You must make the paragraph dramatic. Make the reader feel the pain or desire if they did or didn't have this problem.
about what your reader will discover after they opt-in to see your sales letter/download your report.
Step 7. Add your call to action.
Now your reader wants to know what to do next.
This is where you tell them to fill in their first name and primary email address.
Step 8. Copy & Paste the opt-in form.
Go to your autoresponder service/software and copy & paste the HTML code for the subscription box underneath your "call to action".
Also add a note that their email is kept private and will never be used for spam.
Step 9. Upload your name squeeze page files to your web host server
Step 10. Watch your opt-ins soar!

Getting Your Subscribers To Respond Hyper-actively To Your Emails

You've written a nice email, formatted it correctly, gave them the link to go the site you want them to go to and signed it. What happens after? Not what you quite expected. No response, no clicks, no signups, no sales and not much of everything in general.
In this article I'll reveal some of my gems on getting your subscribers to respond to your emails.
What is the first thing you look at when you receive an email? For some it might be the subject line. Although the subject does play a major role in getting your emails read, it's not number one. What's number is the "From" section.
You see, there are hundreds and thousands of marketers out there but what makes one stand out is their rapport & credibility. When they have that the reader doesn't care much about the subject line because they know that the "expert" has given them value one way or another.
That's the first part of getting your subscribers to "respond" to your emails.
Next, it's your "subject line". What you don't want to do is make your subject line sound like and ad.
What you do want to do is make it sound like a friend or family. Relationship plays a major role in email marketing. You need to sound casual not 'corporate'.
Some examples of great subject lines:
"John, dinner's one me..."
"John, will you meet me at 8?"
"John, this tip is almost too easy..."
What you want to do is build curiosity.
Writing email copy is very much like writing normal copy. It's just a "skeleton" version. It's the meat of the actual copy.
Once you get your subscribers to actually open you email then comes the email copy.
The format for writing email copy is much like normal copy as I said.
Secrets for writing great email copy:
Build curiosity in every email you send.
This is how you get your subscribers to take action.
Add value to them. The simple truth is, your subscribers not only get your emails but dozens or even hundreds more. Why should they read your email? Always add value in every email you send.
Make your emails sound "personal". This way you don't sound like you're always offering product after product. You'll sound more like a friend. You need to build a personal relationship with your subscribers. That's key to getting more responsiveness.
Wrap your text to no more than 60 characters wide.
This makes it easy on the eyes just like newspapers. They're split into columns.
Emphasise keywords or key phrases by using HIGHER CASE letters.
But do note that you should never use higher case in your entire email. This gives the feeling of aggressiveness.
Never use HTML format for your emails. Always use plain text.
Some email programs don't allow HTML formatted emails. The only way the reader can see it is to "unblock" it.
Try to use a "P.S." in every email you send out.
You need to expect that there are "email scrollers and scanners" so this is where the P.S. comes handy. The P.S. should summarise the whole email into one short paragraph. If the reader is interested, they'll go back to read from the start.
These tips alone will increase readership and most of all responsiveness. Try it out today and you'll see the difference instantly.

Both offer advertising that puts your URL in front of the people most interested in what you’re offering. When those prospects arrive at your website, it’s easy to warm them from tepid to piping hot with a value-packed opt-in newsletter. And when they enter their names and email addresses in the dialog box, their info goes right into your marketing database. If you’ve got a good customer relationship management (CRM) software program, it will instantly sent a confirmation email, giving you another point of contact in your quest for frequency. You can also use that CRM to manage your newsletters and send additional emails to your database.
Most importantly, once your prospect opts-in, make sure your website opens a ‘Thank You’ window that features more offers. Think of it as ‘Thank You’ marketing. After all, you know that these prospects are likely to appreciate and take advantage of additional reports or killer discounts.
